Want entertainment? We have it. Want culture? That’s who we are. Want perfect weather? Copy that! L.A. is where you can play at world-class theme parks, visit a plethora of tourist attractions (Hello Hollywood!), browse more than 100 museums, enjoy a coastline drive and shop until you drop! L.A. is where the stars align.
“We are proud that so many of our Magnet schools have been recognized for their outstanding work. The L.A. Unified family welcomes Magnet Schools of America 2017.”

An original Freedom Writer whose story is told in part in the 2007 hit movie, Freedom Writers, Manny Scott has energized over a million leaders, educators, volunteers, and students worldwide with his authentic, inspiring messages of hope. Speaking to over 125 groups a year for the past decade, he is the speaker of choice for conferences, conventions, schools, fundraisers, and banquets.
My favorite part of the conference was visiting the school sites and learning about the students and programs throughout different cities in the US. The creativity and dedication of Magnet school staff is inspiring. And, it is always refreshing to see so many amazing and talented students that represent the Magnet programs.
Magnet Conferences offer an opportunity for current and future MSA member to interact through breakout sessions, school tours, and open networking sessions. The MSA conferences provide a venue in which magnet school professionals get a chance to share new thoughts and insights as well as learn about new innovative instructional strategies.
The MSA conference allows us to collaborate and learn about new ways to engage our students and communities.
Magnet schools help break down barriers that too often get in the way of our highest need students attending diverse, well-resourced schools.
Cambridge International Examinations attended the Magnet Schools of America Conference for the first time last year and could not have been more pleased. The conference was a true learning experience and feel-good event for all, students, parents, and schools. The school tours and the student awards ceremonies were highly inspiring and highlighted some of the very best that Magnet Schools have to offer. The MSA will be a yearly event for the team at Cambridge International Examinations.
